Hi, I have an 03 G-35 with 60,000 miles on it, bought it new. Today I decided to change the spark plugs (Laser Platinum OEM). When I pulled the rear two on the dirivers side, they both had a small pool of oil on top of the plugs. The oil was not in the cylinders, but in the plug wells. Has anyone seen or heard of this happening?

Thanks for any help/replys

Haven't removed the valve covers on the G before, but I speculate it would have a design similar to most DOHC motors. There is usually a seal that goes around the spark plug hold inside the valve cover. If this is worn, damaged, or installed improperly, it can leak oil into the sparkplug hole. It'll probably be a fairly cheap part and be relatively easy to replace (almost as easy as getting to the spark plugs).

Did you have oil changed every 90 days? Not doing so seems to accelerate the seal process.

Thanks Q45tech, that's what I think aslo, that's pretty much the only place it could come from since it's in the plug well and not in the cylinders. I will have to disagree with you on replacing them though, it's looks like the intake will have to be lifted. Hey thanks bunch
