well one of the issues we had with the install was a nasty oil leak between the return line and the fitting which screws into the oil pan. Now i know where its coming from but i was just wondering if yall had some suggestions. First off the line is -10 AN and it is stainless steel braided. This makes it nice and durable but a PITA to work with as if u grip it with ur hands, u WILL be cut. Im having to add about a quart of oil a week due to the loss. So what do you think i should do or what do u suggest?

I am currently using a clamp to attach the line to a fitting which screws into the block. I was thinking of JB weld but is that too extreme? is there a neater solution?

Did you braze or weld the fitting to the pan or just screw it in? Is it leaking at the pan/fitting or the hose/fitting?

i welded the bung into the pan for him, im pretty sure the leak is where the ss line attaches to the male connector which will then screw into the pan.

jookmasta, did you install the male threaded part with teflon tape? and did you use a ratchet to tighten the hose clamp? were you able to get the ss line all the way on to the male fitting?

btw, i wanna hear how thurs night went tuning your car with the wideband.

jb weld will hold, I just jb welded my whole bung to my oil pan, and ive been driving like this for over 7 monts, with out any problems, (just dont hit anything in the road) so for it to just fix a leak, it should be no problem.

I drilled and tapped my bung right into the oil pan itself... Didnt use any teflon tape, but i did use JB weld to seal around the outer edges once the bung was nice and tight...The JB has been there for well over 2 yrs now with NO leaks..!!

Better be careful driving it around like that. I had the same problem and blew up 2 motors in 2 weeks because of a leaky return line, and I was continuously adding oil, too. Just don't want to see anyone else end up like me because of something so easily fixed.

Mine was leaking from the return line as well, but it was from the turbo end, and not the oil pan bung. I'm not sure if the fitting I made was leaking, or if I just couldn't tighten the hose clamp enough. Just be careful running like that, if you have to drive the car check it every Every EVERY time you stop. Good luck getting it fixed ASAP.

just to run the update, i took the car over to the mechanic this morning and we looked and saw it coming from the actual return line. Seems that the SS line was "sweating" out the oil. My other SS line to my oil pressure gauge was doing the same thing inside my car so im not surprised. Nonetheless, three hours to change the frickin line but it was done. (two and a half hours went to catching one bolt on the return flange since the hole happens to line up perfectly with my A/C line) I will probably have to change it again later down the road since i only used heater hose but at least im not leaking from what i see..........Im gonna get some real rubber hose for like fuel or etc but no more SS return lines for me. i learned my lesson.............

Glad to hear you got it fixed. Oil leaks make me nervous, hehe.
