Ok guys, just got an SR swap but here's my problem.

There's oil in my intake piping (I only noticed it by the throttle body, but it's most likely all the way from the turbo).

Does it most likely mean the turbo is bad ? What would cause this? Does oil run in the turbo , or is it more likely from the motor ?

Thanks

Thanks for replying.

Blow by? Is this normal that ppl add a catch can? Or is the turbo going.

It's a substantial amount. After running w the car for 30mins and if I look inside the intake pipe there's a long puddle all the way to the throttle body where it leaks out.

Hmmm.... is this after 30 minutes of normal driving? Most blow by occurs in the higher rpm range or under boost. The catch can will get rid of most of it in this circumstance. If you are getting a lot of oil in the intake piping during normal driving or at idle then it could be something more serious like the turbo seals.

Its probably a blown turb. Did you check for shaft play? When my T-25 was bad there was oil everywhere inside the hotpipe.

Large amount of blowby can also cause this but something has to be significantly wrong with your piston rings to cause lots of oil to form in your intake piping.

If your internals are fine and everything is in good order, you should not have much blow by. At least you shouldnt see oil in your intake piping.
