just put a used transmission in this weekend.... drove the car to work and there is a small puddle of oil under my car... not transmission fluid.

first think that comes to mind is REAR MAIN SEAL.....

ummm i didnt replace the rear main seal when i had the transmission out because i didnt have the star nuts to get the flywheel off. didnt need to, it was in perfect condition.

the rear main seal did not leak before i changed the transmission

not even sure if it is the rear main seal but i also put a jack under the oilpan to lower the engine a little bit when the motormounts were loose...

how often can a perfectly good rear main seal go bad by installing the transmission and not even removing the flywheel????

any input ideas welcomed.

Why dont u get under there and trace the leak back to where it starts but its prob your rear main or you tore up your oil pan

it could be anything man just get under and see if you can pin point it. changing the transmission should not have effected your rear main seal
