Hi Guys my mums old Blue Bird 2.4 ltr has been in mechanics for an oil leak and it looks like they have taken the steel and alloy sumps of and may be the front cover cost her more that car is worth, Oil leak still there. I have taken front pully off then the power steering pump and I can see the oil leak it is coming out of front cover on left hand side near what looks like an oil gallery about half way up.
Is this common and how do i take front cover off to fix. Does the steel and alloy sump need to come off again and what needs to come off the top Does the head need to come off.
Any info will be greatly appreciated

Much work to do to fix leak. Shame on mechanic for not fixing correctly to begin with. Need to start over with repair to identify what is leaking and why then dismantle needed parts on engine to begin the repair.
