A great resource for Nissan Sentra, Infiniti G20, 200sx, Pulsar, NX1600, NX2000, Tsuru, Primera and Sunny owners.

Noticed this morning some oil on my driveway, so I pop the hood and I find that there is oil leaking from the top of the engine cover(where the screws are). The screws were really loose so I tightened them. Doesnt seem to be leaking as bad as before but I am wondering if I need to replace anything.

TIA

Mike

You might want to re-place the Valve cover gasket they sell then at AutoZone or Pepboys. Plus you "DO NOT" want to over tight the screws on the valve cover. Is your Nissan still under warranty? If so, I would go to the dealer that way you don't have to pay nothing.

An 02 wouldn't be under warranty, but definitely check the gaskets up there and follow proper tightening specs/procedure.

Well after I tightened the screws the leak stopped.

I guess the next question is my Sentra has 100k on it as of last week. Should I have the plugs and coils changed out?

Thanks for the replies and help

You can certainly change the plugs - 100k sounds about right but no need to change coils if you're not getting any misfiring or sputtering or any such symptoms.
