Ok, got everythign running (thanks nismo!!) but now a big problem. NO oil coming to the head at all. I measured about 80 psi oil pressure cold start at the oil sensor location. There is a small leak at the exhaust side, in the front of the engine. I can feel alittle air coming out. but, compression is consistant on all cylinders, so thats fine. but, there must be a block somewhere in the engine. any ideas?:help

Well, I am going to take it to a shop to have the oil sucked out of the engine with one of those vacuum pumps. I am also goign to the junkyard searching for parts.

well i think i have this problem... but not too sure.. cuz i cranked the car with some oil in it and never seen any oil squirt in my exhaust side cam. I removed the valve cover to look but did nothing... but when i was doing that cranking my oil was not on the Low on the oil check thingy. I did it not for too long maybe 5-6 second.

keep us updated want to know if you find the reason

I dunno man. turns out I can't find anybody in the area who can do that oil flush. I am thinking, maybe 60 psi of air from the top? I have 80 psi of pressure are the oil snesor location, so maybe with pressure coming from the top instead of the bottm..... Only other thing I can think of is the head gasket is wrong.

lol, yea, sonds like a thing I would need a second opinion on. Draino, anyone? lol. I think that sounds like a worse Idea. I don kno though, I need something. Dee just built this engine, and I don't want to rip it apart, not now. The thing is, the oils drains out of the head down to the oilpan, just never makes it back up.

Nope, I think he is running out of ideas. I've spent alot of time with him on the phone. Will probably call today, and see if he has had any brainstorms.

Ben,

Give me a call at your earliest convenience and I'll try help you with this. I've located some points of interests that maybe helpful to your situation. You have oil pressure and the oil is traveling, but the problem is going to be where you see oil coming out at. But anyways, call me and we'll discuss this further.

Quote »if you have gone overboard with silicone on any oil seals then the silicone could beclogging the pasages[/quote] The only silicone on his engine was the little bit used to fortify the paper gasket on his new water pump and on his oil pan which was dried long before he saw the motor. The only thing is those engines sit in Japan and we have idea of what they've been through. I placed the head on his new headgasket and block and carefully double checked to make sure the coast was clear to torque down the headbolts. I am not quite sure as to why the oil is not making it to the top of his engine, but I urged him to pull the head and to call me if had needed my guidance. I think it'll be alright.

You aren't going to have oil flying all over the place like you do in a motor with rocker arms. What makes you think oil isn't getting to the head? Is it tapping? I would try running some delvac 1300 desiel oil through it, see if that helps.

It is bone dry under the valve covers, and the valves are really loud!!! no oil at all. I am in the middle of pulling the head, might as well finish the job. BTW, to anyone rebuilding an engine, it would be worth yoru while to make sure all the passages are clear of any debris before sealing the engine back up. lol. Nothing major you would think about, but....

try getting the oil pan and everything and you begin to wonder if your tightend the oil pump and sump down, only to tear it apart and realize you hadnt it was only finger tight. we still dont know what told us to check it but we did, whew!!!! that would have been the most expensive thing i ever ruined.

The headgasket was on backwards. 12.5 straight hours, from 6:30 pm to 7:00 am, straight through the night. Only to blow the Timing belt from overtightening.
