so i just finished puttin the turbo kit together and i unplugged the spark plug wires and undid the oil send line going into the turbo. when i tried to start the car to get the oil line full of oil (so the turbo was not dry when i actually started the engine) no oil ran out. the battery was dead at first so i had to sit it next to my sisters beetle for 20 min to get it warmed up. it sounded like it was still struggling just a little but i could hear the starter. anyways, the engine was trying to start but nothing was coming out of the oil send line? any ideas? i just want to get the damn thing running!

is the oil pressure light on when you turn it over? If so, make sure there line isn't leaking at the sending unit or that the line isn't clogged.

Mine did that too, I just had to actually START the car...I'm assuming after that, all was good...1000 miles and the turbo still works, so it must be getting oil!

Just thought of something. It may sound stupid, but did you put oil in the motor?

Not that stupid Ckwik, my usually smart friend, seized his fully built RB25 and trashed his 2000 some odd dollar HKS GT3030 tubo by never putting in oil. While he was outside the car inspecting for oil leaks...lol...and setting the fuel pressure and the letting the car warm up, he toasted the it. What really hurt was the lack of assembly lube, if he used it, it may have survived long enough for him to figure it out.

Anywho, check your oil. If you have oil, remove the line and blow through it if it's clear and you have oil, then you should be good. Unless you removed the oil pump feed while the pan was off or somthing. Start the car and see what happens.

Well as not stupid as it might actually be, it can sound stupid or insulting to some. But noone is perfect. When I had originally installed mine, my buddy kept asking if all the oil lines were tight. I kept saying yes. I was pretty damned sure of it too. Nonetheless, after starting her up, and just as I backed down the driveway, my friend starts to wave his arms frantically to shut down. I left a huge puddle of oil in his driveway. Apparently, one of the connections wasn't as tight as I had thought. I felt real stupid. And he still reminds me of that to this day. =\

it was just the battery. it was dead cause we had a light plugged to it for a WHILE. i just used one of those things that hook up to your battery so you can start it right away. it gave me a stronger start and the oil started flowing.
