So I was “playing” around with a electric impact gun I bought to work on my Honda Civic.
I decided to see if it had enough power to front crank bolt on my 2002 QX4 VQ35De donor and not only did it spin the bolt off with ease, there was a “spray” of oil that came out with the bolt.

All told seemed like there was about a teaspoon of engine oil in there. Is that normal for oil to be pooled up in there?

:werd: I had an old '91 Pathfinder that needed its front crankshaft seal replaced. When I removed the bolt, I saw that the blind threaded hole was wet with oil inside. I simply thought that the previous owner's mechanic lubed it with oil when it had been previously taken apart. Some oil lubrication or anti-seize grease I would understand but I saw drips of oil coming out when I removed the bolt. I cleaned it all out and I lubed the bolt with anti-seize grease when I put it back together. Never gave it another thought until now, and that was at least 15 years ago. I wish I could remember what I had for breakfast this morning. :werd: Don't you think.
