Deep into my hobby Q for full replacement of my injectors and decided to also change out the plugs. While pulling out number 2 I notice oil spatter on the boot and about a thimble full around the plug. This raises a couple of questions that I have not been able to anything definitive on here.

I am replacing injectors due to a bad miss that I attributed to injectors due to # 3 and # 4 falling out in resistance (open & 62 ohm respectively).

1. Now I am wondering whether even with the failed injector result if the problem (miss) could be attributable to the oil in the plug well causing misfire of the plug.

2. Where is the oil coming from, does this mean valve cover gasket or are the plug wells sealed individually?

cheers.

Ok, came across lots of good info on this condition. Only the #2 has any trace of oil, so for the time being I will see if there is any movement on the bolt to tighten the cover and wait. No oil smell anyway.

Oil in the plug port can cause a misfire, but your injector ohm tests point to them being a much more likely cause. What you describe doesn't sound like a huge leak, but you'll want to reseal your rocker covers at some point...
