oil in cylinder 2...1992 240sx

i just took the valve cover off to take out the broken timing chain guide and noticed oil come up when i pulled the spark plug wire...im replacing alot of the stuff as i just bought the car and i decieded to replace the spark plugs too, i pulled the first one and it was fine i pulled the secnond and it looks like the cylinder is filled with oil...im 17 and learning about about engines and everything as i go along....what could cause the oil???

Does the car smoke at all from the tailpipe?Maybe head gasket, cylinder ring, or valve guide

It's most likely that the center section of your valve cover gasket, the one that seals the plugs is leaking. Pull the valve cover to check, it's easy to have this fall off when installing the cover and would explain the leaks.
