I recently bought both an electric oil pressure and temp gauge. I had to run an extension off the block to a T-adapter to fit them, which I mounted to the strut tower. The pressure gauge was working working fine (more about this later,) but I never got the temperature gauge to work. The bottom of the temp gauge is at 140°F, and I know a stock KA doesn't get *too* much hotter. But the needle never leaves the bottom of the scale. I have convirmed that the gauge does work. The only thing I can come up with is that the 3' of stainless line might be cooling the oil enough so it isn't hot enough to register, because the line never feels hot after driving. Either that or I have a bad sender. For the pressure gauge which I did have working fine, I messed it up somehow in the attempts to fix the the temp gauge. Now, if the engine is under stress and the pressure is high, the gauge looks ok; but when it idles and the pressure falls the needle gets erratic. It can jump randomly +20 psi and fall back quickly, and sometimes it settles about 10psi low. I have gone over all the wiring and everything I can't figure out what I did. Any advice is welcome on either problem. Thanks in advance.

that line would cool it, besides, the oil isnt circulating through the line so it doesnt get hot, but it is pressurized which is why your pressure but not temp gauge works. http://www.splparts.com/Parts/...t.asp

that sandwich plate is what you really need .

Ya, that makes sense. I looked into sandwitch plates before, but the electric sender is so big it looked like it wouldn't squeeze that close to the block. I might have to give them another look.

otherwise you can get a filter relocation kit, and use that sandwich plate along with it.
