I am planning on doing a cam swap. In reading the how to from jim wolf technologies, it says in bold print "Oil gallery plugs MUST BE installed in the rear of each cam !" What does that mean?

You know those arches that hold the cams down? Those create galleys. On the s13 heads and early s14 heads there are full sets of these from front to back. On the later s14 heads there is one missing in the rear.

What JWT is telling you is that the cams were designed for the earlier heads and if you have a later head with the missing set of oil galleys at the rear you need to install the plugs further in to keep the oil pressure built up.

I am sure someone can explain it better than me. I'm tired right now and I am having trouble putting the picture in my head into words.
