Oil flow direction at oil filter?

Does anyone know if the oil goes in the filter toward the outside "ring", then leaves the filter down the middle? or does it pump oil up the middle, then out the sides?

I'm trying to figure this out for oil cooler placement and possibly oil feed line running.

Car if it matters: 89 240sx ka24e.

oil comes in from the side of the filter and then goes back in to the block through the center.
