I've finished rebuilding my motor and can't figure this one out. I tried the OEM gasket for it, which poured oil. I tried putting RTV on the gasket to help it seal, same thing. So I tried using a thick bead of RTV, which worked for a while. I let it idle for 15 minuets with 15w-40 (added zinc to help cushion the bearings). Then changed to 10w-30 to drive around with. It had about 60psi of oil pressure while driving and about 30psi at idle. After I drove it for 14.7 miles I lost oil pressure and when I pulled over I found the oil filter tree was leaking... Again. Does anyone have any Idea of how to fix it. I'm ordering a new OEM gasket for it today. :gotme

Is it leaking from where the tree meets the block? If so did you make sure you had that O-ring on it and in good shape? Although I doubt that if the Oring was in bad shape it would bust the OEM paper gasket. But it is worth a suggestion I suppose.

Are you sure you are torquing to spec in sequence?

I didn't see a sequence in the FSM for bolting it on. I didn't check the Oring. I'm going to check that when I pull the tree back off. I'm going to order another OEM gasket for it tonight hopefully it'll hold. All it says is that the torque spec is 12-14 ft/lbs that I could find. It's just drove me crazy trying to fix this.

Yeah I do to to hopefully have it sit down on the block flush. I've gone through enough oil for three oil changes from what's sprayed out.
