Oil Filter

Does anyone know offhand if the Oil Filter for the Z31 is the same as the Oil Filter for the Z32?

I went to the Nissan Dealership to get an oil filter for my Z32 and I thought I made it clear but on the oil filter box under models it says 300zx Z31 VG30 and VG30T.

now, what i WANT it to say, is Z32 and under engine VG30DETT right? is the VG30DETT the same as VG30T? just abbreviated? or is VG30T the 3.0L Turbo of the Z31's?? uuugh

i don't trust the parts guy so i thought i'd ask you guys.

Not sure what filter they gave you at the dealership but the Nissan filter for the Z32 is the 55Y

Just FYI the Nissan filters are usually recognized by the first two or three letters or numbers of the later part of the stock number.

For example : 65F, 9E, 55Y....those are the 3 different oil filters Nissan currently makes

Useless information, but good to know no less. So next time you go in, just ask for a 55Y.
