I'm tired of having to wipe oil off my suspension when changing my filter. Do any of you guys have any clever techniques you use to avoid this? I guess a paper towel under the filter beforehand would catch some of the oil, but I can't imagine it'd get it all. I don't seem to have any nifty solutions up my sleeve today.

Hmmm.

Draining the oil first?

I punch a hole in the top of the filter (to equalize the pressure for easier draining) and use a shop rag under the filter when removing. No drippage.

Heh, it's just a couple of ounces every time I remove it. I guess several shop towels would do the trick. I guess I need to stop being cheap with them.

Yeah, it happens to me when I change mine. I don't care. LCA's are supposed to be dirty anyways.
