Oil Filter Relocation, Whats the benifit?

Information on the naturally-aspirated KA24E and KA24DE engines.

I saw a 240 prepped for road racing the other weekend at VIR, and amoung a lot of other mods to make NA KA people smile... They had relocated the oil filter.

I have been wondering what the benifit was for them remote mounting the oil filter?? Any one know? My curiosity is driving me nuts.

easier to change the filter, more oil capacity, and the ability to add oil temp sensor or remote oil cooler to it. also it will allow you to run any damn filer you want if you have the right adapter part thing(yeah i cant remember the name for it, lol!) for it.

I figured it had something to do with stuff like that. I had a feeling it was a decent reason if it was found on a track car.
