Once the RB25 is swapped into the S14, how hard is it going to be to reach the oil filter? Would an oil filter relocation kit be beneficial for ease of filter changes and keeping the motor and x-member clean of grime? If this is a good idea, I would like to do it while the motor is still out of the car.

I would have searched this topic, but the search button isn't working right today...

I'm not sure about how it is with the stock IM, but with the Greddy IM is sort of a pain, but not that bad. Later on I will relocate it.

stock isn't hard at all. I am a big guy and I can get my arm in there no problem. Now if I had a relocation kit lying around when I did a swap I would throw it on there for the hell of it. I wouldn't buy one though...

rb26 s14, the oil filter ends up basically above the motor mount plate. its not hard to reach, but the plate kind of acts as an oil catcher when you unscrew the filter. i'm assuming the 25 is the same/similar. not a big deal.. just give the area a wipe when you're done changing the filter

Yeah, it's not in a horrible spot, but I'm doing one anyway.

Where are you going to mount yours (oil filter that is ) and do you plan on mounting it vertically or horizontally? I would like to relocate it out of sight so as to keep the engine bay looking as clutter free as possible.

you could relocate the oil filter to the frame rail so that the filter is facing up (spins on upward) and that would be tucked away nicely.there really is no reason to relocate the filter tho, even with the rips manifold on the rb20 i have no problems getting to it.

the frame is usually the first thing that scrapes on my car ... if you extend it downwards another good 4" with the filter that could be dangerous. dont really want to scrape a hole in your filter or rip it off completely haha. but yea i agree theres no real point in relocating it, even if you were to do an accusump or remote oil cooler...
