Is the SR oil filter located in a hard to reach location? Is a relocation kit needed?

I am planning on putting a Trust oil pan on my engine and I am afraid taht this oilpan will somehow block the oilfilter.

Should I get the oil filter relocation just for easy maintenance?

I wouldnt mind saving $150 for unnecessary items, but if it makes life much easier, it is inevitable.

meh, it's a pain, but it's not that hard. Go to autozone and get one of the oil filter grippers that has a ratchet adapter on it. That'll make life much easier. And be sure to lube up the filter before you put it on. It should help you when it comes time to take it off.

okay cool! thanks

btw, is the location hard to reach?

If it is, I wont even bother ordering it since I have the gripple already.

Its a little hard to reach but not impossible. Afeter I got mine off the first time I did my oil change I got a K&N it has a hex nut on the top so it can be later removed with a socket and socket wrench. Thats what I have been doing so far.

now that I have the oil filter relocation kit on I am soo glad I put it on. At first I was a little afraid, hearing horror stories about oil leaks and failing fittings. Mine has worked perfectly so far, I just pop the hood open and screw the oil filter off.. it is that easy =)

Not exactly a necessity if you are on a budget, but, if you have the extra cash it is well worth it.

Which relocation kit did you use? Could you give an approximate cost?

Blitz oil cooler kit that comes with an oil filter relocation kit. Cant remember cost... anywhere from $500 - $800. The Blitz kit is pretty hard to get your hands on.
