Oil filter - PureOne PL14610

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

I'm currently using the PL14612 filter in my EX35 2008 Journey.
I'm wondering if the larger PL14610 will fit as well?

According to Amazon's search, it's not compatible but they seem to be similiar but the 14610 is longer (more filtering area).

I'm doing my oil change today and would appreciate if anyone knows the answer.

I used a K&N
might be overkill, but for just a few more bucks.... worth it

I don't see a problem with the two Filters along as the threaded Hole is the same size.

In my Truck, I use a longer version of what is supposed to be standard one.

Using the longer one, allows me to go with an even 6 Litres of Oil, every change.

Try one on, and report back.

I don't recall, but does the FIlter screw-in upwards or is it horizontal or at an angle?

Some different Filters have a back-flow Valve in it, so that the Filter doesn't empty while the Car is sitting.

Changed oil using the longer PureOne PL14610 and fits perfectly.
I don't know why they recommend the smaller PL14612 for a V6 engine.
