The sticky on site says the filter is 65 mm but I found an online dealer of Assenmacher wrenches that says the filter is 63 mm. Which is correct? Has anyone found the correct size wrench locally (in the US) or did you buy one online? Or can it be purchased from a dealer?Thank you.

2 mm, c'mon man. almost all oil filter wrenches are adjustable otherwise they couldn't sell them. i don't use a wrench b/c you can easily over tighten the oil filter and either put a dent into it or rip the gasket.

According to my digital caliper, the filter is approx 65mm from flat to flat.

I bought an inexpensive cap/socket style filter wrench at a local auto parts store. It works, but sometimes it slips off or better yet, gets stuck the filter once removed.

I use the wrench for removal only. The filter should only ever be hand tightened as per the directions on the carton (usually 2/3 to 3/4 of a turn)

I know you've been using the wrench from crappy tire for a while, but I do have to add that some of those plastic (molded) filter wrenches from 'crappy tire' can break. maybe nissan over tightens the oil filter from the factory?

I use the same 'plastic' filter wrench. It hasn't broken on me yet, but I am less than impressed.

I have found that 'band style' universal filter wrenches don't work too well on Nissan's. Both my Pathfinder and the Altima had obstructions (fram rails, suspension, etc) that prevented using them. The Rogue is a bit better... it sticks out further.

Even my wife's Mazda requires a socket style wrench as the damn oil filter is on the back of the engine underneath the intake manifold (like some Honda's)! With the socket style wrench and an 8" extension I can remove the filter from the top instead of having to jack the car up.

Thanks for the info. I like the cap style wrench. The band style I have is too large. This is for the first change, so I expect it to be very tight. Thanks again.
