The guy at auto zone told me the ka24de engine has a 4 qt capacity when i put the mobil 1 syntec oil in I realized it only gave me back a little over 3.5. I think the engine was more of a 3.5 than a 4. The dipstick levels shows as fllowed :||L||(//////)|F| The line " | " represents how far i see the oil on the stick. So its a little above the letter full. And also the tool I used to tighten the Bosch 3400 oil filter on got a dent/scratches on the grip area from the wrench i used (oil filter wrench). Is that serious? I am not a serious mechanic or know much but will this be ok or do I need to start worrying? (1997 240sx base model)

Update: just drove it around a bit, right now it looks as if the oil is perfectly on the full hash part. Please reply with how much oil i should put in next time. Thanks!

Also just drove a friend's sr20det s13 man that clutch feels SO much better than a stock s14 clutch.

yeah, I just did my oil a few days ago, put 3.5 q in as well, right at the full mark. I looked online and it says 4, but 3.5 is on the line.. so I'll go with that.

I wouldn't worry too much about the dent in the oil filter. I mean, it's not too big, right? it only pokes in like, maybe 1/4 inch or less, right? that's what I'm imagining.

Its where your wrench is supposed to grip the filter, I should buy a better one for next time. Its too late to worry about it, but it doesnt seem too big of a dent. Thanks for the help.

you dont need a wrench to tighten them. I hand tighten mine then go a 1/4 past that. That's what I was taught todo in my auto mechanics class.

Fram filters have the non-slip covering to help you take it off.Been using that for the past 300K miles that Ive put on numerous cars.
