well, I used valvoline Max life 20w 50 in my 214,000 mile KA, and fram filters. But, for the new CA, I will be using 10w 30 Mobil 1, and I'm not sure about the filters. probably napa brand. maybe go to the dealership. where do you get the k&n ones?

I just switched from Mobil 1 10-30 to Castrol Syntech 10-40. Would have stayed with Mobil, but they don't make a 10-40. Wix filter, the local dealer wants too much for their parts plus their parts guys range from indifferent to just plain rude, so I don't go there unless I've got to.

Redline 20w50 and K&N Filter.

240_trainee: You might want to run something thicker than 10w30 in that CA. Redline, Mobil 1 synthetic, and the K&N Filters are all available at Advance.

haha! remember madscientist i live in canada and stuff like mobil 1 is uber expensive!!!! i change oil every 3k due to travling to work everyweek. distance is about 600k round trip.so penzoil's a little cheaper when you go through that much oil!

Hey, I'm paying $4.00 a gallon for gas, we all have our crosses to bear:( I keep hearing there is parrafin in that stuff, do you see any deposits from using it?

madscientist:4 $ a gallon?!(4gallons =4.5 [email protected]/L=3.70$) thats about what we canucks pay but thats for regular, not even midgrade!. ouch!ya i do notice a little bit of deposits that blow thru but like i say i run @ about 120km/h for 3 hours straight twice a week to go to work so alot of the time i dont notice any irregularities to do with the oil. but i do agree with you that mobil 1 would be a better choice for oil in my car. do you flush your engine out at oil changes?

I use the OEM nissan oil filter, and Pennzoil/Mobil/insert your brand here 10w-40 non-synthetic, both changed every 2.5-3k.

Since I haven't seafoamed my 240 yet, i've been using cheaper stuff - just regular mobil 10w30 and OEM Nissan filter. After I clean everything out with seafoam, I'll switch to what I *like* to use, which is Mobil1 Full Synthetic, with K&N Oil Filter.
