alright, i've been making ALOT of threads lately, and i apologize if i make them alot and seem not to search, but i do.

But i did finish the wiring. Got the injector resistor, the ignitor (Q45) and the MAF and Knock sensor all wired up. If it works the first time, i'll post a write-up of the Q45 ignitor. But you might have read about my Oil Pressure Gauge problem. I decided to give up on the idea of replacing the stock sending unit switch thing, and just go with an oil filter adapter. does anybody know what size i should get? Im ordering from Glowshift Direct, and they have 18mm, 20mm, 22mm, and 3/4-unf 16? Im thinking the 18 or 20 is right but not exacty sure which one. this is the last question i have for now, unless my motor doesn't crank and i can't figure it out

Thanks everybody, i am in debt to all who have helped me through my swap, and wiring and everything so far.

Im not sure about the oil filter adapter, I would like to know also. But as for the problem that you are having is easily remedied if you have a local hydraulic fitting place in your area.

You can take the stock oil pressure sensor, located underneath the oil filter, off and take it there and tell them that you need a metric tee that you can screw in the stock sensor location. And then you can mount both sensors in the tee and that would be what you need hopefully.

That's what i had on there for my old t3 oil feed setup but I'm going to be using the stock oil feed on the turbo side for my t28 and I'm going to use the tee for the oil pressure sensor for the gauge and for the stock sensor, which is already on there.

Hope that helps.

i know on Courtesy Parts, they sell a NISMO "T" for the stock oil pressure sender. Does this work good on our engines? i think that i read they work but can't remember.

PS, sorry for the resurrection lol

well i did find out in another forum that the size is 3/4" UNF 16. so i will be buying a Glowshift Direct Oil Sandwich for my oil pressure and temp gauge, and then will probably run an oil cooler off it later on.

Dalaz, here is a write-up that i will probably follow close for when I get to an oil cooler for my car. hope this helps.

Thats the one you want. Works great and had no leak problems. I will be using this and the Greddy Theromstatic Oil Filter Sandwich together for oil temp, pressure, and oil cooler.

A adapter to suit a SR20 and even a L series Datsun engine will fit up fine on a CA and RB series engine. Gotta love Nissan interchange ability.

I have the same kit on my girls RB25, My CA18 and Sr20.

i remember seeing on nissansilvia.com an adapter that went into the stock oil pressure area that had 2 fittings...looked a bit flimsy though...ill just go with glowshift since apperantly its a proven fit...

if you are just running an pressure gauge or temp gauge, they sell a 1/8" BSPT adapter for the stock oil sender location, but it involves removing the stock sensor completely, and idk if you are wanting to do that. I haven't had mine hooked up, but I thought it could save you quite a bit of cash and it does fit and works.

you know, Glowshift doesn't have the adapter anymore..it was only like $3 to..they do have free shipping on orders over $25 so i'd just get an oil filter adapter..

are the gauges new or used? I'd start by testing the gauges themselves and the sensors for proper operation. Also, maybe check the ground/power wires possiby.

gauges are new

all gauges are daisy chained together (oil temp, oil press, water temp, fuel temp)all getting constant/12volt/ground from the same place

water temp works great, fuel press works great... so i swapped plugs so i could test the oil press on my fuel press and sensor works, same thing with oil temp to water temp...sensor works...

so sensors working tells me its the actual gauge unit itself...

you can test the gauge unit itself. DON'T QUOTE ME ON THIS, but i believe you take the signal wire from the gauge itselft and touch it to ground. the gauge should move all the way right, or to the highest reading. if it doens't, the gauge itself is faulty.

For future reference, dont mix the oil/fuel pressure sensors. fuel in oil and vice versa isn't good. you can check the pressure sensers by touch leads from a multimeter to the threads then to the body of the sensor. I should have no resistance IIRC.

well i finally called STRi and they actually requested if i could cross over the sensors to see if its the sensor itself, so i did...sure enough the sensors picked up signal beautifully(oil temp read on the water temp and oil press read on the fuel press gauge)

so by simple deduction, we know 2 things now, harness is getting power and signal properly, and sensors are working properly aswell... so it has to be the gauge unit itself failing at life...
