Oil filler tube/valve cover

Took my M45X in for oil change and they tell me the oil filler tube broke off so now I have an oil leak and a vacuum leak. It looks like the filler tube is just glued onto valve cover. Can I glue back on or do I have to replace the whole valve cover?

What did they do that caused it to break off? Why aren't they talking about subsidizing the cost of repairs?
