I was wondering if its possible ( acceptable ) to use copper tubing to run the oil feed line. I was at the junkyard a few days ago and noticed that all the stock turbo cars there ( ie. saab, daytona, capri, etc....) all used hard lines as feed lines. Also if you could use the copper line kit for a mech, oil press. gauge I dont think you would need a restrictor. Thanks, -Jake

You could run copper tubing on your aftermarket kit, but here's why you shouldn't and almost no one does, you will need to bend the tubes perfectly so there wont be any kinks, then you will have to weld the end on the tube to an adapter that will go out of the oil pressure sender, then weld the other end to the turbo flanger

See the trouble? While a stainless steel braided line will be much easier to install where most will come with a direct fit adapter.

theres no welding involved, it uses compression fittings. think about it, if it was welded it wouldnt be able to turn. as far as flexibility, teh engine and turbo move together so I don't see a problem there. And bending tubes is not rocket science. If you can plumb ic pipes you can definitely plumb a tiny line from the back of the block to the front. A line that small can be bent by hand without kinking

Thanks for all the replies... If I used the 3/16 brake line then would I still need to use a restrictor? thanks again - Jake
