i ordered the oil line kit that was made into a sticky i think it was called "DIY t3-t4 oil feed line kit" and i ordered all the parts listed and went to install them on my stock oil sending unit and it wont clear the mounting bracket on the alternator. can i take off the oil port that the filter and pressure switch and connected to the block and rotate them counter clockwise to clear the bracket?

no because it its the bracket itself. i thought about that already. can i just take off the whole assembly that the oil filter is attached to and rotate it to clear the bracket?

How about an elbow fitting or something from the hardware store?

i removed my alternator and everything attached to it when i installed mine. i got a pre assembled kit from somewhere, i can't remember where. if i hadn't had everything off it wouldn't have fit very easily. i had my filter off when i was doing the install because i was changing the oil/filter also... i think it should be able to fit with the filter off, but i mean i'd have to see what you're working with... i don't know what it looks like.

this is the new way i installed them. the blue line u see up top is to the turbo feed and it still keeps the stock oil pressure switch but now i need a port to use for my electric oil pressure gauge so is there something i can buy that will have a few ports that i can use all in one unit?

this is the electric oil pressure unit that needs to be installed but can i do it this way and just use a resistor for the stock oil pressure sensor plug so i wont get a oil pressure light on the dash?

1) You really do not need the pressure switch, just check your oil regularly, if you ever see that light go off that means you already have some major damage to the car. (so plug it up and be don with it)

2) As said, you can get an elbow fitting instead of that 3 way fitting you have the sensor connected to, and then connect the 3 way to that OR an elbow fitting instead of the fitting that comes out of the 3-way and obstructs the alt. bracket.

3) If you are worried about the pressure switch light, get a pressure sender that has both an oil pressure terminal and a warning terminal, same cost as a regular autometer oil pressure sender but with the additional warning terminal that goes off if the pressure drops below 11psi; very useful because it's never supposed to go under 11-13psi even when the car idles. You can just hook the wire from the stock pressure switch to the Autometer one and it'll work just fine.

look at the link below, last pic is what i just described.

Actually now that I look at mine and yours, I have 3 pices too, but my last elbow is shorter so it fits. So get a shorter elbow and maybe see if you can arrange it like I did.

I was thinking and if clearance is still an issue with the elbow, go for a banjo fitting. The autometer pressure units are quite bulky but should fit with some calculated torquing. Use some kind of sealant when putting those pieces together too.

yes, definetly put some teflon tape on the threads when you are done testfitting and are putting them on for the last time.

I strongly dissagree here. You NEED that light. I was driving down the road one day and that oil light lit up. The second it lit up i cut the motor off and pulled over. Turned out the oil filter came loose and spewed oil everywhere. That light saved my motor.~Sam

^ He has an electronic oil pressure gauge. I would agree with you for anyone that does not have a gauge.

Yeah you guys are right, I guess I was trying to say that 5psi is too low of a threshhold, because under normal condition you won't know until you're really almost empty on oil.Your example was dead on, if you had an 11psi light, you may have noticed the spilling a bit earlier as it would light thelight sooner.

I just believe that the light should go on anytime the pressure drops below that of normal idle conditions, which usually make about 11-13psi or so. I couldn't find a 13psi warning switch, so 11 is as close as it gets.

If course 5psi is better than nothing. Sorry if I sounded a bit careless up there.
