Hello. I've tried searching the forum and haven't had any luck. I have a 1991 nissan 300zx tt. And the oil dipstick tube is kinked and not useable. Is there a way to replace it without having to remove the drivers side exhaust manifold. Intake plenum, and turbo to gain access?

Its a press fit, so tehcnically yes. You may also end up having to cut the braket that secures it at the top but thoretically yes its possible. I've never done it with the engine in the car so I can't say 100%. GL

You sure the tube is kinked? A common problem when the oil pan has been removed and put back on is that if you leave the dipstick in, it gets caught and causes the dip stick to not be able to be pulled out. Only way to fix this is to drop oil pan. You can technically try to do it engine in by dropping the front cross member and supporting the engine.

The tube itself is kinked from the previous owner. About halfway up the tube. How would I go about replacing it the way it runs behind the drivers side exhaust manifold. I don't mind removing the intake plenum and boost hose to make access easier. My main worry is snaking the new tube in.

I forgot to put it in last year on my rebuild and had to pretty much remove the manifold. Probably something you could technically do engine in, but easier engine out.
