Does anyone know why someone would grind down oem dipstick. Took car out for run 91tt w78thousand oil stick pop out smoking,
broke handle ordered new oem.Put it in stopped took out compared it noticed old one ground down. Ready for paint do buddy gave me car very ill 300 mile away to show finished car do I grind the old one down?

Maybe they had the wrong dipstick? The trucks use a deeper oil pan.

I ordered new one and they match the oem part and they are both the same length

As long as you're using the oem part number, you'll be fine. Not sure why anyone would grind the old one.
