has anyone tried one of those 100 bone oil coolers from flexalite? i am currently cooler-less and am to chicken to turn up the boost, however the G-D-ING BIG BLOCK HEADED CRO-MAGNON NEANDERTHALS FROM WORK KEEP ASKING WHY I DON'T GET A CHEVROLET! so i'm just looking for a basic oil cooler system without spending $450+ on the greddy, and i did see the extremly nice setup one the guys here pieced together (good write up), however even that's to expensive...help, please, i may succumb at any moment to their insistent pestering...not really

p.s. mad respect to the ca forum

Sean has the B&M import oil cooler from SUmmit. He seems to like it well enough. I bet you are talking about my oil cooler how to write up (if you found it here on NICO it was mine, lol) It is a nice setup, but if you read down the thread on it, there are some nice alternatives that are cheaper.

Why are you scared to turn up the boost with out an oil cooler? how much horsepower do you have and whats your set-up? Just get an oil pressure gauge and use a good oil (Mobil 1) and a good filter (wix, k&n, puralator)

heat=wear, heat+oil=hot oil, hot oil can lead to sheared bearings and because motors are expensive and i have no money, i's not really all that scared, just making conversation, of course, you do have a point about the oil pressure, leaking fittings=low oil pressure=grenade!!...just one other quick question whilst on the subject, what's the thread pitch for the oil pressure dummy light sensor (that'd be the one in the block, below the oil filter), i'm getting a pressure gauge but would like to retain that light if at all possible, and thanks rico05
