Ok, we all know that the RB oil coolers are HELLA expensive from Greddy, HKS, etc etc etc.

And we all know to make an oil cooler, all you need is the actually oil cooler core, the lines, fittings/clamps, and most importantly the oil filter block.

Now, where can we find just the oil filter block needed to fit our engines (ie RB26DETT)? Reason being, I figured that I could make my own for my RB26DETT motor for $100-$250 max, instead of paying over $500 for a name brand one.

Thanks all for your help.

All you really need to find out is whether the RB26DETT oil filter is the same as another car, say the 300ZX filter, for example (which is the same as the RB20). Then you just buy the filter block for that car.

SPL has them for the Z32 for $68.

another option is build your own setup; all you need is 1 sandwich adapter and a cooler element, and run your braided lines. transdapt makes sandwich adapter for nissan...click me ...i believe PDM-Racing carry the adapter.

Hey. That is what I wanted to do was build my own. Which one do I need? Is it the one for the 71-96 240z, 260z, 280z, 300z, and 300zx 6 cylinders? That part number is 1313. Sounds good?

I found an oil sandwich adapter that has a built in thermostat that should work for the RB. It is an Earl's piece. Part number 502ERL. About $85.00 at SummitRacing. It ought to work. And hey, if it doesn't, my whole family owns Nissans so one of use could use it.

BTW, it starts to open at 160 degrees and is fully open by 180 degrees. Perfect for the RB.
