there is a large hose that runs from the front to the back of the engine. That or one of the metal pipes it connects to is leaking. The oil cooler does use water but it rarely leaks. Having blown the hose I initially described I am 99.99% sure your leak is there.

Yea, I've never heard of a CA blowing the HG and leaking coolant outside of the motor. There is a mess of coolant lines under the intake mani. It's probably one of them leaking.

not as good as a real oil cooler. Better than a kick in the nuts but I doubt they are particularly efficient. Hot oil being cooled by only slightly less hot coolant doesn't sound too impressive.

thats what i thought. kind of like the coolant cooling the oil in the turbo type of thing? a friend and i were thinking that it'd probably make it more clean and simple if he removed the cooler, but we didn't know if it'd make a huge difference or not.

water cooler turbo catridge is VERY helpful. Exhaust temps and coolant temps are very different and the amount of heat removed goes a long way in extending the life of the turbo center section.

Yes it was the coolant line under the intake mani. Thats exactly why Im going with a front mount oil cooler. This motor is one tough SOB though Ive overheated this car numerous times and nothing has happened all Im waiting for is my aluminum radiator now.
