Like big diesel trucks, just fill the cooler till she's full. Plumb all the lines up and start her up!

EDIT: my oil cooler might add .2 of a liter of oil, if that.

Yeah how about you get off yer duff and fill it to see how much it holds. Will be useful as hell when your next oil change comes around.

head is off car, oil cooler is in X-Mas wrapping, and I dont have oil. I just figured asking couldn't hurt while i was waiting for the snow to clear and to get the car back home, but I guess it did. I thought I'd ask, but i'll never ask again unless i REALLY need it. Sorry to cause you guys an inconvience.

WTF? Where did that come from?

Never run anything less than 10-40 in a turbo motor.

You'll just have to fill it and see how much it takes. If I had to guess, you're an extra 1/4 of a quart.

Most of the extra oil will be held in the lines therefore the length of your lines is what mostly determines how much more oil you can hold so fill up the capped lines with water and pour them into a measuring cup.

i would connect the lines to the cooler and then do that but yes this would be the most accurate way to do it

Well...yes...but he said his cooler is giftwrapped and under the Xmas tree...so I figured maybe his lines were available to tinker with for a preliminary measurement.

nope, the whole setup is gift-wrapped

i think it would be wise for me to unwrap them (X-Mas morning of course) then later connect everything, fill the lines and cooler with oil, then measure the amount of oil

Did you pay attention in high school geometry class? http://www.mathsteacher.com.au...r.htm

Consider the lines as a cylinder. Then, fill the cooler with water and measure how much it took to fill. Add to the volume of the lines, and viola!

Remember, math is fundamental!

i didn't buy a kit i just bought all the materials from Summit Racing. I'd buy an Isis Cooler Kit for an SR if I were you though. I heard they were decent and are $300. i've spent about $300 on my kit with a Greddy thermostatic oil sandwich though.
