Just finished installing a remote oil filter and oil cooler... but forgot about the overly cool oil concern. Don't have any recourse that I can think of now, except to cover the oil cooler fins when the ambient is below 50 or 60 degF. What do you all think?

what kit did you use?

also maybe find a headlight motor and mod it to make a shield for the oil cooler. hit a switch and cooler or warmer oil

I bought a setraub or whatever oil cooler off ebay, some 8-an lines and fittings from summit, a remote oil filter pedestal from summit, too. The cooler is about 5x8. I like the haedlight cover idea - thanks!

In the cold months of the year just put cardboard or duct tape over it so aire can't pass through it...

I hope your remote filter adapter has 2 ports so you can add oil pressure and temp gauges. Once you add these gauges, monitor your temps and you won't have to put a piece of cardboard in front of your cooler, unless your car never gets up to operating temperature. Good luck.

My adapter has one port for oil pressure. I get oil temp from a sensor in the pan. Is that better or worse?
