oil consumption

I'm usually on the Maxima forum. I'd like to ask if any other Pathfinder owners are experiencing oil consumption issues.

My wife's 04 Pathfinder has 52K on it and is using aprox 1.5 quarts every 2K. I have a 98 Maxima with 172K on it and I've never any issues with it. The Pathfinder doesn't smoke and I can't see any leaks so far.

I've seen some things on the web regarding the VQ35DE having oil consumption problems but nothing specific to the Pathfinder.

Any ideas out there?

Sorry to tell you this but my 02 Pathfinder has 170Kms (Over 100K miles), and I still go from oil change to oil change with no oil consumption.I've been using Mobil1 full synthetic for years, which may have something to do with it. I don't have any specific idea why yours would be using oil. Good luck.
