Soo since I've owned this car the oil pressure gauge has gone from not working (replaced, and didn't work so I put the old one back worked better then the new?), any some days it works at idle reads from (low end of normal to 60 at cold engine temps to warm up, then drops to zero while driving (no rattles or anything out of the ordinary), then when at idle 600-1000 it reads ~15-40 then when I rev up past ~1200 it drops to zero, or sometimes it will a dead spot from 1200-3000?? I'm at a loss this gauge reading has got be boggled. And I'm sure this subject is beat beyond death

Have you changed the pressure sensor with an OEM one, not an autoparts store cheap one?

It was an auto part store one. The original is back on the car now

When i was fixing some leaks (power steering, and clutch fluid) I noticed a crack in the plastic fan attached to the fan clutch. Just wondering what fan would make a good replacement? Thinking of a aluminum or stainless steel one. I noticed some of them said reverse rotation on then. Input??

Stock oil pump is sufficient. Oil pumps are only meant to keep pressure throughout the engine. That is basically it. The best thing you can do for the oiling system is get a deeper pan that holds more oil. Make sure you have the proper clearance in the bearings.

So when it comes to a good oil pump, just get an OEM one from the factory.

Besides stage "4" NA, you need to worry more about tuning, fuel issues, detonation, etc. Oiling, as long as you have proper pressure, is the least of your concerns.

Alright good to know. It has 139k on it right now so I hope all clearances are in spec. I've been using a very detergent oil to clean out the years of gunk and sludge of the cars nooks and crannies little bit of clatter but only on warmer days cause I'm using 5w40 (17degrees here today)

And id like to keep the pan on it for when I lower it. Work parking lots are riddled with steep curbs and speed hills

If you are going to track it, road course, etc or if you had a 1000hp monster I would say get a different oil pan. But stage 4 NA really isnt much considering what these cars are capable of. Our stock oiling system is extremely efficient. I was pushing 400 hp with no ill effect. You will be fine with the stock system.

139k on a stock motor, if it was taken care of even a little bit, it will be fine.

I figured as much, would I love a Zzilla?? Hell ya. But eventually I'd like to have ported heads and a lumpy cams but that's not for a while

Honestly, instead of spending the money on ported heads, cams and things that cannot be changed over to a TT engine, save your money for a TT engine or a ls swap or other v8 engines. The VG30DE engine really isnt a power horse except in TT fashion. You can spend an ungodly amount of money and it will disappoint you. Its been done, and you can definitely get WAYYY more HP out the turbo engine.

If you just want to have a NA engine, but not have a huge HP, then keep it and do Dual intake, headers, exhaust, cams, tune, lightweight pulleys and flywheel, driveshaft. That will still cost a bit, but might net you an additional 30-50 hp. That number still might be high. The heads flow very well and maybe a polish will get a little additional gain, but not worth the money. Maybe 5hp, maybe.

I want to be able to have mine be a NA, and be safe to twin up, if that is a thing. Or something that wont give me seconds of false hope when trying to pull on a turbo car
