oil changes....

Hello everyone I was just wondering, I do a lot of driving ( I need an oil change like every 2 months( 6000 kms) it all highway driving so I was wondering if I switch to syn oil can I go longer between oil changes? Like every 7000 or 8000 kms? Will that void the warranty? If anyone does anything like this please let me know, THANKS!!!

I use Mobil 1 and drive about 1000 miles a week.....I go about 10K between changes.....I check it often just to make sure its not low

Here is the oil analysis on my Mobil 1 oil change at 5000 miles. As noted they said to try 6500 miles next time which is over 10k kilometers. Also the .1% water was due to my leaving the sample in the car for a week with the cabin getting hot & then cooling every day.

Nissan has 2 service schedules for regular or severe driving. Severe driving is typically characterized by short stop and go city driving and it is recommended that oil changes be done at 3 month or 6000 km intervals. This is what the average person does. Higher mileage drivers however can use Nissan's regular driving service schedule which recomends oil changes every 6 months or 12000 km. One of the reasons for the 2 schedules has to do with the engine running long and hot enough to burn off the moisture and contaminants that build up in the oil. So the bottom line is if you're a high mileage driver you can extend the time between oil changes.

ok, Im not sure if Im a high mileage driver. I do about 600-650kms a week but about 95% is highway driving, I drive 50 kms each way to work. With the summer comin up its going to be alot more. Im due for a oil change this week and im going to talk to them and see what they say. Thanks everything for the info.

I think that would be condidered high mileage
