take some PB blaster or some other penetrating oil and spray it around the mounting surface and see if that loosens it up

have you only used the spring cups and the band type wrenches?? cuz there is another channel lock looking wrenchs we used to use at jiffy lube, and that used to do the trick. it looked like this

And when you get the new one on, smear some oil around the rubber o-ring before installing it. This will proide a better seal against the block, and aid in removing it on the next oil change you do.

finally got the SOB out! Went bought huge *** channel lock then squeezed the hell out of it, first removed all the oil lines in the way...it didnt grip for awhile but after like four or five turns it started moving a little bit, then i took a torch and melted some of it... the stickers lit on fire haha...dumped some baking soda on it and put the fire out. That melt the rubber seal and then i went back to the channel lock and ripped it out...woo thank god... thanks for all the help guys!!!

Do people use a torque wrench to tighten oil filters on?

I don't think there is a way to use a torque wrench to tighten a filter, is there?

K&N oil filters are fitted with a wrenchable end. Yes they can be torqued.

your just supposed to put it on hand tight not crank it on there, and the oil around the seal is always a good call
