OK Im gonna do a Oil change experiment tonight

1. I am going to get some bg quick flush and run that for 20mins

2. drain and refill with generic 10w/30 i have in the garage

3. run quick clean for another 20 mins maybe some atf

4. Drain generic oil, change filter and replace with Valvoline Synpower 5w/40

What do you guys think? Overkill? Just wanna make sure I have little sludge and a clean engine:ylsuper

Sounds like a typical oil change to me!

Remember more than half a quart probably won't drain out [pan shape and gallies, etc].

In winter I would let the BG Quick Clean run for an hour, at least 30 minutes you can drive with it in [as long as you don't get stressful above 4,000 rpm].

Generally Q are less dirty than you would think but even with Mobil 1 changed every 3-4k and lots of treatments with chemicals the aluminum stain [orange] won't come off.

We tried to cure a badly baked on sludged Q with everything under the sun including Acid and Soap AND BG PURGE.....gasoline/kerosene mixed in oil [why, because we felt the engine was toast in the first place].We finally built a special trap door bottom oil pan to get the clumps out as they loosen and fell every 300 miles......this has been going on for 7 weeks now with twice per week oil changes.

The point is real sludge can't be removed chemically needs an ice pick and hammer.

Don't think a single cleanup cycle can make up for year of non 90 day change interval abuse.

I used one can of BG Quick Clean today and can't say I notice a difference (ran it for about 20 minutes)... didn't get rid of my HLA clatter (or whatever it's called). But I guess it didn't hurt anything....

Also did the induction cleaning (throttle was a little sticky) and that helped, but I don't think it was that bad to begin with.

Nice to have a $115 visit to T-3!! (usually $400+)

Very few things make improvements on single uses - maybe a massive shot of penicillin...........20 minutes? After 4,000-5,000 hours of abuse.

The BG Quick Clean will evaporate [vaporize thru PCV system into plenum] if the engine oil warms up to 220F for an hour or so......the drain is to get what ever varnish dissolved in the solution out so that it doesn't just redeposit itself somewhere as the oil cools down!
