All this time I've been buying my case of Mobil 1 ($24 approx), buying my Nissan filter ($4 approx.) and going to my buddy's shop where I pay $13 for an oil change.

So guess what? Today, I'm at the Mobil station adding air to a tire. I look at the sign - A Mobil 1 oil change is $34.95.

See y'all at the Mobil station.:ylsuper

I'm guessing the $34.95 only includes 5 quarts of oil.

exactly 6.00 quarts.

Some old pubs show 6.25 but that was a mistake at the factory they didnt take the volume of the oil pick-up into consideration.

Has been coirrected in most sources to 6.00 quarts.

That's pretty cheap. But it gets closer when you add the 6th qt of oil, as mentioned, and more expensive if you also provide them with the factory filter. Then add the trust you've developed with the mechanic who knows your car, versus some kid who's going to opt NOT to replace the plastic undercover because he either forgets or because its too much of a hassle.

Good point DAE. However, my mechanic IS the kid at the Mobil station. I forgot about that 6th quart though.
