I'm planning on doing my first Oil Change on my 2006 Murano SE AWD

How do I access the oil filter for quick and easy removal?

It is easy, assming 06 has the same VQ engine as 09, to replace the oil filter. You crawl under the car and remove the plastic panels held by platic snaps. You see the oil filter right there. It is much easir than many other V6. Some of them have an ol filter behind the rear block. Even some in-line 4 has a tricky oil filter. Mazda's 2.3 has non-cartridge filter. Murano is really easy.

Agree, it's super easy. I removed the panel covering the filter the first few times I changed the oil on my 04 SE, but then realized that just pulling the panel up from the bottom (and not removing it) was all that was needed to access the filter. It's even easier to get at the filter if you take the front passenger side wheel off - something I do every oil change since I always rotate my tires when I change my oil (twice a year).
