hello all new to this site and new to the maxima. getting my second oil change. i had 5w-30 synthetic oil change. i heard about amsoil and order 0w-30 full synthetic and the oil filter. want to make sure if i am making the right decision.

Amsoil 0w-30 is what I run in my 4.5gen. It's like water but it's definitely protecting the car well (had a UOA done by Blackstone). I also like the fact that it's basically good for 15,000 miles.

just to make my post count go up by one...you'd be wrong to switch to 0w30. why? because the 0, 5, 10 etc before W isn't only about how sticky or how low of a temp the oil is good for. it's also about how well it absorbs engine heat and how much heat stress it can handle. also if you have a tiniest piston ring leak you'll burn through it like crazy.

but that's just my lube specialist talking. maybe someone else knows better.
