Hi,

I need some advice about the change oil. I need to change it soon. Any recommended brand. Synthetic or regular? and grade?

What is the size of the Drain Plug and Washer?

Do you really have to change the washer everytime you change oil?

Is it really cover under the warranty if you keep your receipts for the oil filters, etc. In case something wrong happen to the engine?

Thank you, Ed

I always use synthetic and I change it every 5000 miles. I can give you a heads-up though. There's a plastic plate under the oil filter and you have to remove about 8 retaining pins. I still can't figure out how to remove 2 of them. I left those 2 in and bent the plastic cover so that I could access the filter. As for the size of the plug- I'm not sure.

I go to the dealer for my oil changes every 3,000 miles. The dealer told me the oil is a semi syn. or synthetic blend of some kind.I was told i can go 5,000 miles without an oil change. It's about $29.99 but the dealer gave me 3 free oil change coupons when i financed the car. Also I got a free Extended Warranty which includes free oil changes for the legnth of finance,Bank pays for it.I'm at 12,000 miles now and i got my apointment monday.--oil change.--repl radio due to stuck button.--check rear defogger, one line doesn't work.

I use Syn always at every 5000. I didn't bother with removing the black plastic piece. It has a little spout on it that comes in handy when taking off the filter.

i ran AMSOIL full synthetic after 3k hit with the amsoil oil filter makes the car run smoother and i got a litttle bit better gas mileage.. I paid 30 bucks for my oil change as well but i work at a car performance shop so i got a good amount of discount at regular price ur looking at 7.99 a quart and u need 5 and the oil filter anything is fine..

I just changed mine to Mobil 1 today. I noticed those plastic rivets were tough to remove so I cheated as well. I removed to oil filter using one of those small rubber strap tools and placed a thick section of newspaper, folded over, on that plastic tray. When I removed the filter, the oil ran off the newspaper and into the pan.....not a drop of oil was spilled on the tray or floor. I did have paper towels and the new oil filter ready for installation.
