ive heard that the OEM Nissan filters are good.

I use K&N, flow is very good through it, but doesnt seem to have the best filtration, as very tiny particles in the oil dont seem to get picked up. (oil turns black faster)

you dont gain anything from oil filters normally so its best to get the best filtering one to keep ur engine its cleanest. but dont get ultra cheap ones, some of the poo poo ones ive heard restrict flow too much which is just as bad as dirty oil.

maybe some more people can chime in with their recommendations.

You never gain any performance from using any different oil filter. It's just simple physics and the principles of an engine. What oil and filter to use depends greatly on the condition of your engine and what you HAVE been using. If you have an engine over 50K miles that has been runnign on normal oil, I suggest Castrol GTX and a Nissan OEM filter. For synthetic, Mobil 1 10-30 and a Nissan OEM filter. Bosch, K&N and Mobil1 make superior filters but I dont' know if they are quite worth the money if you keep up with teh changes and such. Also, please do a search, we've discussed this ad-nauseum.

I use Nissan OE filters and Castrol GTX on my car (97K miles). As long as I change the oil every 3K, I'm fine. I'd run synthetic if I wanted to stretch out that oil change interval, but I have no complaints about the GTX.

For what it's worth, I've read lots of good things about the Nissan filters.

Everybody has their own engine oil preference, however, you can't go wrong using OEM Nissan oil filters.

Damn right. For synthetic, use Mobil1 10-30 for normal oil Castrol GTX.

Royal Purple and a K&N Filter... I switched from Sytec to RP and my car runs a full notch cooler onmy temp gauge.. andd that's after running 80-90 mph+ for an hour or more on the interstae between Tampa and Sarasota... good stuff!!!

Royal Purple, Redline, and MOTUL are definetly the shiz if you have easy access to them. If they weren't so freakin' expensive, I'd get me a ton of it. If a local place carries it and they price it at under $7 I may be tempted to switch over.......
