oil change question

I dropped my car (02 Q45 with 115k miles) for front suspension change. The mechanic also changed the oil and put synthetic oil with an aftermarket filter. I normally don't use synthetic oil.

Should I take it to Nissan tomorrow to put factory filter and regular oil or is it ok to drive until next oil change

Should be fine. No reason to be afraid of syn. Biggest question for me would be which brand of filter they used. I'd be fine with some aftermarket brands, but others I'd want to replace. Even if it's an undesirable filter brand, the car is fine to drive, you'll just get better results if you change it.

I'd be more concerned with the brand of the filter and whether he used the OEM or other copper crush washer.

You can change the oil sooner which is never a bad thing.

You can look at the filter and determine what it is or just ask your mechanic about both.

Why would you drain out fresh synthetic oil ???? Run the oil at least 90 days, or whatever your normal interval is.....certainly the synthetic oil in there now is superior to the bulk cheap conventional oil the dealer uses. Any oil filter,even a cheap Fram, is fine for a 90 day interval.

I only run synthetic oil.

Just stick with conventional oil...the snythetic really won't benefit the Q45 much and you'll be wasting money becuase the F50 burns oil like a 3 alarm fire.

i think the car will be fine, they will last a long time!
