you can start synthetic when ever (better). 10 30 should be fine. I use mobil 1 oil and filter. Seems to work fine. I usually change every 3000 miles, but can probabably go up 10k to 15k before changing ( I wouldn't ) as long as ur not racing everyday.

You wouldn't happen to be in the marines ever would ya. I just remember a guy that sometimes called himself grillo.

Welcome to Nico!

Brake dust is because of the compound of the oem pad. Switch out the pads for some Project nu ms pads or satisfied pads.

I checked with my local dealer about length between oil changes when using synthetic. They told me that Infinity will only allow 7k mi on the synthetic oil or you will void the warranty. Does anyone else know if this is true? I plan on changing my oil every 5k using Mobil 1.

5k or 6 months are good numbers for synthetic oil. Royal Purple is one of the best lubes available~!

This is in the back of your Owner's Manual ...

Well, yes, but some are a lot better than others. In your shoes, I'd stick with Nissan/Infiniti OEM filters. If you get them from http://www.everythinginfiniti.com, they should be relatively inexpensive. If you do your own filter replacement, remember to get the copper drain plug washers too.
