How do I remove the black plastic guard (to get to the oil filter) underneath the car as to not break off the plastic push pins? I see the sheet metal screws but how do I remove the others?

Thanks

I didn't bother with removing the plastic piece. I had the front end jacked up in the air when I do the oil. I could easily scoot under the car, reach around, and twist off the filter. I find that the plastic is pretty helpful. It catches the oil and pour it down the little spout and right into the oil pan.

there are two bolt on either end. a 10mm or was it 12mm socket wrench will remove that. then find a nice flat head screw driver, and slowly pop the middle part down, and then you can pull the clips off. it is off by then.

I suggest removing it because it makes the oil change easier when you remove the filter, aka left over oil doesnt get all over the place and you have to clean it up.
