Do you guys think I should change the oil on my 08 Mitsu Outlander? It only has 700 miles on it, but it's an 08 with original oil. I was going to do it at 1k...

Thoughts?

Do you know the exact month it was put on the road? If not more than 1 year I would not touch it till 1k. If it is the early model like released end of 07 than I would just change it. I am notr to big fan keeping the oil in the car for more than a year. My wife has almost 7k on her Focus. We changed the oil 3 times already.

It only has 700 miles on it? Well thats good. You still have a chance to save all of this. Go directly to an Infiniti Dealer and get an EX35. All the problems will go away immediately. They may still accept it as a new car when you trade it. Unless you changed the oil. Just kidding. Check the production date on the door. If its close to a year old, go ahead and change the oil. But If the car has less than 6 months, you could wait to 1500 miles, or untill it actually IS a year old.

Good advice! I'll check the SUV's birthday. Oh, and my wife thinks the EX looks like a station wagon...not really enough room anyway. Now the FX 35 is a different story, but it would have cost double.

Another weird thing is that the manufacture recommends 5w-20 oil...kind-of a strange weight IMO.

5w20? maybe the internals dont have uber tight clearances... The new FX is badass. Funny looking from certain angles, but everything else about it is great. Its fast as hell too...
