Oil change on a turbocharged engine?

I was wondering if there is anything special i need to do when i change my engine oil. Do i have to add extra oil? Do i have to lube the turbo? Thanks in advance!

Lube the turbo? ....


The turbo is constantly lubricated because the engine feeds it oil while it's running. Thus your oil feed and return lines.

Do an oil change as normal. You should be doing them more frequently than regular changes as the oil goes through the turbo and back into your oil pan.

You may have to add extra oil, check the dipstick after you fill it normally. Start the car, let it idle for a couple minutes. Turn off the car. Wait 1 minute, check the oil. Add if necessary.

Edit: While you're doing it, inspect all lines/hoses etc for leaks or damage. I would suggest cleaning/washing your air filter as well.
